It really is all "about the gut"

A long one, but again all about the gut. What is mentioned, is that probiotics are good but they are not colonising in the gut. This is one of the key benefits of kefir - the bacteria in kefir, unlike most probiotics do colonise in the digestive system and can repair damage done, in time of course.
